I play squash and when I sustained a calf muscle injury last March I went to see Neil on pro-golfer Greg Nicolson’s recommendation. I was most impressed with his thoroughness and the fact he wanted to help me in as few visits as possible. It took only two and I’ve had no problem since. I’ll certainly be going to Neil for all future injuries and have been recommending him to everyone who’s had a problem.
Following a week’s skiing I hobbled in with a painful hip. After a thorough examination and history-taking Neil identified the problem. He chose suitable exercises that were effective but not too daunting for me and now I am well on the way to remedying a weakness that has been bothering me for years. (I can now ski badly in comfort!)
I approached Neil about some physio to help me recover from a broken hip, after a period of immobilisation, then basic hospital physio, had left me with relatively limited movement. I was delighted with the results. Neil has a very thorough understanding of how joints work, and after his treatment I am now able to enjoy to the full my previous pursuits of skiing and hillwalking, and have even recently taken up golf. I cannot recommend him too highly.
Following a cartilage operation and additional muscle damage I used Neil to accelerate my recovery. He is approachable, easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. I am delighted with the progress I made and would recommend his services to anyone.
The great thing about Neil is that his goal is to relieve the pain and then get to a stage where you can self-manage your problems. Two examples — I had upper back problems caused from golf which I had lived with for about 5 years on and off, despite visiting various people to try and fix it. Neil’s physio work has relieved the problem, and he has given me simple techniques to manage it, with exercises to work on if the problem returns. For a recent neck injury, we worked through various sessions to free up the movement and eliminate the pain, and I now have simple exercises to do if I feel it stiffening up again.
Having been in pain for some 6 months with some remedial physio with NHS and then a referral for injection using ultrasound I felt I had not seen any improvement. Golf is my interest and I wanted to get back to golf ASAP. Neil was recommended to me through my pro at the club and after 6 sessions I can honestly say my full movement had returned and the pain had drastically reduced. Neil listened to me about my symptoms and indicated he could help resolve my issues. 6 weeks later I was feeling so much better and back playing golf 3–4 times a week. Neil also gave me advice about exercise after my sessions to keep my mobility in my shoulder area free and easy. I would go back to Neil with any problems as my first port of call in the future.
Following a period where I experienced a variety of musculo-skeletal problems – not least of which related to chronic back pain – I attended a presentation that Neil did at my local golf club. Following a chat with Neil, I arranged for an appointment to be scheduled where an assessment of my back was carried out. Neil was able to pinpoint the underlying reasons as to why I was experiencing problems and was therefore able to offer therapies that treated the causes rather than the symptoms. I am happy to report that following through on Neil’s suggestions has significantly improved my condition and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others…
Despite an operation on my spine I continued to experience sciatic nerve discomfort. Neil quickly identified the source of the problem, and he devised an exercise program which together with hands on manipulation fixed my troubles, in a month. Being able to walk the golf course again is brilliant and the reduction of discomfort post golf is wonderful. I strongly recommend Neil’s services, and advise you to try him out without hesitation.
